The 1998 Covers album
The Beatles
hadn't included on their albums any recording of songs written by other
artists since 1965, but the music they'd grown up on always remained
their favourite. Whenever two or more of them got together and the
guitars came out, they invariably rocked out together on Chuck Berry,
Little Richards, Fats Domino and other rock-and-roll classics. And when
this happened in a studio with or with other musicians, this often got
recorded.
In 1998, these
recordings along with renditions of a few songs written by their
contemporaries were released in a double-CD package simply titled Covers. |
