FIRST CONTEST
Picking a winner was not difficult. Only one entrant identified all five authors correctly. The most common mistake was in misidentifying the woman author (#5) as Jane Austen. The correct lineup was given by Philip Lo of Vancouver who receives a copy of George Eliot's Middlemarch as a prize. Answers:
#1: Elmore Leonard (Freaky Deaky) #2: Leo Tolstoy (War and Peace) #3: Ernest Hemingway (For Whom the Bell Tolls) #4: John Irving (A Prayer for Owen Meany) #5: George Eliot (Middlemarch) |
